OUR PROGRAM

Free Laundry Access Program is a program to help individuals and families who are experiencing financial challenges living in Canada with access to clean laundry free of cost.

HOW IT WORKS

Eligible residents will receive a credit at each event date for Free Laundry Access, which will be based on number of individuals within a given household. Free Laundry Access program is ONLY offered on announced Event dates, times and at specific locations. Outside of the Event dates and times, unfortunately the program is NOT available Remember, each Event is coordinated with our laundromat partners in advance in order to provide the Free Laundry Access program and services. Outside of the Event date our laundromat partners do not have the resources required to run the program. Amount of credit per event is set at a maximum of 4 loads or 30 pounds of laundry per individual member within a household.

For Example, A household containing:

1 Individual : 4 loads or 30 pounds of laundry

2 Individuals: 8 loads or 60 pounds of laundry

3 Individuals: 12 loads or 90 pounds of laundry

4 Individuals: 16 loads or 120 pounds of laundry

Participants will have access to washers and dryers with the costs of washing and drying covered, free laundry detergent and dryer sheets for each load. No cash will be given to Participants.

For each machine used, Participant(s) agrees to fill the washer 3/4 full of laundry to be laundered. If the machine is less than 3/4 full, the laundry must be combined with other laundry to meet the minimum requirement. The Participant also agrees to fill dryers 1/2 full of laundry to be dry, and if it is less than 1/2 full of wet laundry, the wet laundry must be combined with other wet laundry to meet the minimum load for drying.

Of course there will be exceptions to this rule and it will be up-to the digression of the Staff/Volunteer from Free Laundry Access.

Free Laundry Access Program is valid for a 12-month period once you have been accepted into the program and credits do not get carry over into the next year, as credit is issued at each event when you are present. Participant(s) need to re-apply each year and provide the required documents.

Free Laundry Access is privately funded through generous public donations and corporate donations and sponsorship.

To be a Participant (Main Contact on the Application Form), you must 18 years of age or older. If you are under 18 years of age, an exception can be made if you can provide proof of your housing/living situation and/or proof of income. An applicant (and their family) must meet the following criteria:
● Live in the Canada
● Have a before-tax family income (for all family members over the age of 18) of less than the Low Income Cut-Off (LICO) amounts:

Eligibility is determined by family size and income. Free Laundry Access staff will review each application with required documents to determine eligibility.

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS

1. Identification

Provide one document per family member

● Ontario Driver's License
● Passport
● Birth Certificate
● Government Issued Photo Card (i.e. Ontario Photo Card)
● Canadian Citizenship Card Or Permanent Resident Card
● Immigration and refugee document issued by Citizenship and Immigration Canada
● Certificate Of Indian Status
Ensure that all identification documents are valid within the last three (3) months

2. Income
Provide one document per family member over the age of 18
● Canada Revenue Agency's (CRA) current year Notice of Assessment* - line 15000.
● Ontario Disability Support Program (ODSP) statement with income & name/address
● Pay stubs(s) for the last 30 days
● Employment Insurance (EI): Record of Employment & My Current/Recent Claim Page form your My Service Canada online account
● Signed letter: If you are unable to provide proof of income, you may submit a signed letter from a representative of a social agency or religious institution that lists all family members, verifies your address and total family income.
If you are currently unhoused, do not belong to any religious institution or under the care of a social agency and do not receive any income from any sources, there is an affidavit which can be signed to verify your current income situation

If you receive Canadian Pension such as Canadian Pension Plan (CPP), Old Age Security (OAS), Guaranteed Income Supplement (GIS) and Ontario Guaranteed Annual Income System (GAINS) must submit current year Notice of Assessment to prove your income.

We encourage all residents of Canada to apply for the Free Laundry Access Program by downloading the form and submitting it via email.

You will receive email notification regarding the outcome of your application within 10 business days.

To apply:

1. You must have an email address.
2. Take a photo or scan required documents to be uploaded as attachments.
Provide proof of:

● Identification for each family member (including children)
● Income for each family member that is over 18 years old
● Address (if applicable)

3. Enter information for you and for each family member living with you (spouse or partner, child/ children, or parent or sibling where applicable).
4. Include the total annual pre-tax income for each family member over 18 that is listed in the application. Some calculations may be required to provide annual income.
5. Name(s) on application must match the identification, address and income documents provided.
6. Upload/ attach all required documents. If your application is missing any documents, you will be asked to re-submit documents, which will increase the processing time.
7. You will receive an email notification regarding the outcome of your application within 10 business days.
8. You must re-apply and submit valid documents every year.
